Low Level Laser Light Therapy

As more and more people are growing tired of smoking, they are looking for a more effective way to quit than using gums, patches, hypnosis, e-cigarettes or vaping, prescription drugs, or just going cold turkey.  Quitting on your own has become nearly impossible. Only 4% of those who try quitting without any sort of aid succeed and virtually everyone suffers from withdrawal discomfort including irritability, headaches, nausea, etc.  All of the above methods come with added expense, continued dependence on nicotine, ingestion of a multitude of chemicals, and continued health hazards. Some of our clients have reported increased coughing after trying the vaping method. Medications come with the very real risk of possible negative side effects.   Chantix has a long and growing list of side effects including, nausea, disturbed sleep, morbid or suicidal thoughts, depression, coma, and even death.  These risks are hard to justify with a success rate that is only 26% better than a placebo (this statement is taken right from the fine print of a Chantix ad). Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) aka Cold Laser Therapy or Auricular Therapy has an over 75% success rate at vastly reducing, if not eliminating the physical withdrawals. Cold laser therapy is very similar to getting acupuncture minus the needles and the pain, using light as the energy source to stimulate the meridian points. That stimulation tells the brain to make more endorphins which are feel good, healing, relaxing chemicals that your body naturally makes. Smoking actually stimulates the elevation of endorphins also which is why people enjoy smoking so much. However, the elevated level of endorphins wears off quickly leaving the smoker with the desire for another cigarette or more nicotine. The laser on the other hand, elevates the endorphin levels for several days. This is what gives the smoker or shall I say ex-smoker, the relief from physical withdrawal symptoms allowing them to more intently focus on forming new lifestyle habits and routines. During the first session, 20-30 min will be spent coaching the recipient with various tips on how to deal with changing those habit and routines which have become perhaps as addicting as the nicotine itself. We treat a total of about 50 points encompassing some for addiction, stress & anxiety, and appetite & hunger control since those are all so intertwined with the smoking addiction. There is nothing to fear or dread. Many of our clients seem to enjoy the relaxing time in the recliner and some even catch a nap during their session. Even though LLLT has its similarities to acupuncture, it seems to be more effective with fewer treatments. Some folks do well with one treatment, while others really need two. The amount of cigarettes smoked or length of time one has smoked really doesn’t seem to indicate how many sessions a person needs. If the client still experiences some withdrawal symptoms or intense cravings for the nicotine after their first session, they should come back for a second one as soon as possible, preferably before they smoke. A second treatment can be rather cumulative and make a world of difference compared to having just one. If a person is traveling from a good distance, we suggest spending the night and getting a second one on the next day. This describes cold laser therapy in a simple nutshell, but here are a few hard facts about laser therapy: Low-level laser therapy has been practiced for over 35 years and has never shown any indication of causing any harm or side-effects. It is completely safe and harmless. Laser treatments are truly therapeutic in that they promote health benefits such as lowered anxiety levels, better circulation, relief form hypertension, better sleep, improved metabolism, better energy, elevated mood, and other benefits. Laser treatments evoke a definite physical response in the body (it’s not just in your head). It triggers the release of hormones and endorphins while stimulation the endocrine, circulatory, and nervous systems in a therapeutic way. Unlike medications and nicotine replacement products, which require up to 52 weeks of constant use, most people quit smoking with only one or two laser treatments. It’s much easier, more convenient, and far more economical. Laser treatments are completely drug-free and non-invasive. No synthetic drugs or substances are put into your body. The treatments naturally stimulate the biological systems of your own body in a very safe and effective way. Treatments relieve withdrawal discomfort and reduce cravings, making it far easier for you to quit smoking, chewing, or vaping than trying to quit on your own or with other products or protocols. Many clinical studies on laser therapy have been carried out, and the success rates have ranged from 43% to over 85%. Even the laser therapy study with the lowest results performed better than the very best Chantix study results. On average, laser therapy produces about twice the success rate as Chantix. The pharmaceutical industry has bullied some critics to disregard these studies, but the fact remains that even the critics cannot produce one single study that shows laser therapy to be any less effective than Chantix. The average price for a laser therapy program across America is about $400, which is far less costly than patches, medications, or smoking itself. The program at Gateway Laser Wellness Center is far more affordable than that. Please call for our current price. Low level laser therapy is currently approved by the FDA to treat carpal tunnel syndrome and is now being reviewed by the FDA to determine its effectiveness for treating smoking addiction. Due to the low power of this class of laser, its use is not restricted to medical professionals as some believe. Cold laser therapy is also useful in treating injuries and other pain related issues. There are actually protocols for treating a wide variety of health conditions. Clearly there are other methods with some degree of success. We at Gateway Laser Wellness Center believe that we are blessed to have the best method and the best service. Our desire is for our clients to successfully quit nicotine once and for all.  Our business is run by appointment only, which means that if you need to come after work; we will do our best to adjust our schedule to meet yours.
